date 2010-07-29 till 2010-07-31 location Athens, Greece description Conference name: International Conference on Technology-Enhanced Learning (ICTEL)Venue: Athens, GreeceEvent Date:29 - 31, July 2010SCOPEInspired by a myriad of emerging networks linking people, institutions and companies, the 1st International Conference on Technology-Enhanced Learning, ICTEL 2010 focuses on innovative concepts of learning and networking both in the corporate and the regular education sector. The conference aims at bringing together researchers and practitioners who are working on next generation ICT enhanced learning solutions, both in higher education and companies. E-learning is currently passing to a next phase where connections are at the core of learning processes, involving people to share and co-create knowledge.Training and learning have become critical assets in globalizing economies and ICT provide opportunities to make learning an integral part of our working life. In fact, learning is evolving into informal modes, self-regulated and productive. Universities will experience the increasing virtual mobility of students as they will function as nodes in networks of higher education institutions. Knowledge transfer from academia to the corporate sector will also be a major need in future economies, ICT enabling collaboration and the creation of new value chains.ICTEL 2010 would therefore welcome those who are inspired about new ICT enabled learning concepts, new collaborative environments, and knowledge transfer from academia to the corporate sector. These issues will be an important theme in the years ahead because of the need for life long learning arrangements for all, whatever the level, wherever the phase of professional development. From a technology perspective these developments demand new platforms and tools, and attendees who are working in this field will meet in this conference an interdisciplinary audience of peers, educationalists, HR managers and policy makers. The main focus of this conference therefore is on knowledge creation and learning in networks of academia with the corporate sector. With respect to this, ICTEL’10 addresses two main questions, namely: 1. How can technology help fostering the knowledge transfer from academia to the corporate sector 2. What innovative learning concepts can help improving learning at the workplaceThe long-term aim of ICTEL hence is to support the development of innovative learning and knowledge creation in both higher education and the corporate sector. top event: Professional Training Facts 2009 - Learning Competence Performance Stuttgart 17.11.2009-18.11.2009 Turbulent markets make it necessary for companies to adapt to new demands in a rapid way. An intelligent organisational and personnel development plays a central role in coping with this strategic management task. To keep companies competitive in this challenging environment it is necessary to build up, to maintain and to develop the competences of employees and organisational units. The challenge is to bring into relation the management of competences with the performance of the company and to adapt in-company learning and competence development processes appropriately. These current developments and topics are the subject of the international Professional Training Facts conference which takes place on 17th and 18th of November 2009 and is organised by Fraunhofer IAO for the fifth time in succession. The conference offers practitioners and developers a forum for the exchange of information and experiences from organisational and personnel development. On the agenda are new trends and challenges as well as solutions and practice examples from a company perspective. Speakers from companies and research institutions present methods, concepts and strategies how to design the "Learning - Competence - Performance" triad for today and the future.Target groups The Professional Training Facts conference is most appropriate for in-company experts dealing with further training and competence management. Other target groups are: * organisational decision-makers, * experts from the educational sector as well as from the private and public sector and * application-oriented researchers. Conference participants benefit from the event by * gaining an overview about the most important topics, challenges, trends, and solutions,
* meeting experts from research and industry and becoming familiar with their points of view , * enlarging their own personal network in the international community, * experiencing good practice examples and solutions to get ideas for their own activities, * sharing experience with speakers and other participants, * receiving useful first-hand answers for implementation activities in organisations, * finding partners for implementation projects from applied research and industry, * understanding how to estimate the effectiveness of solutions outlined in the area of competence management with regard to time, cost and quality aspects. more |
